Why Families Choose
Prima Learning

Deep Knowledge, Real-World Understanding

As a curriculum creator and experienced educator, I have a sharp eye for what matters:

  • Strong grasp of national curriculum and local school expectations

  • Awareness of current challenges in schools, especially in Croydon, South London and surrounding boroughs.

  • Up to date on current safe guarding training and contextual issues.

  • Clear understanding of the SEND code of practice and best ways to deliver first quality teaching based on the Education Endowment Foundation.

  • Solid working relationships with schools across the borough

  • Every intervention is rooted in research and tailored to the child.

Relatable, Kind, and Trusted

As a mum of three boys, I understand how important it is for children to feel supported, not just taught. I bring patience, empathy, and a calm, encouraging approach to every session — whether a child is full of questions or feeling completely switched off.

I was recently voted “most trusted adult” at school — something I’m incredibly proud of and never take for granted. That trust is what helps me connect with students, especially those who might be struggling with confidence, self-belief, or motivation.

For me, it’s not just about academic progress (although that’s important) — it’s about helping each child feel safe, valued, and genuinely ready to try again, even when learning feels tough.

Experience That Counts

Over 23 years in education, including time as:

  • Head of Year

  • Deputy SENCO

  • Head of department: SEND specialist in mainstream school.

  • Head of department- Transition Curriculum- designed to support and bridge the gap from Year 6 to Year 7.

I bring a wealth of insight from across the system — I know how schools work and how to help children thrive within them.  This coupled with my experience working with students with additional needs such as Dyslexia, Autism, ASD, Processing needs and Specific Learning Difficulties, helps to provide and instill skills to help children thrive independently with belief and confidence in their ability.

Focused on Outcomes — Big and Small

Whether it’s building confidence, improving grades, or helping a child find their voice again, my work gets results.

Soft stats (like attitude shifts, motivation, resilience) are tracked right alongside academic progress — because both matter.

In class- students make expected to above expected progress.

Out of class- positive outcome for students achieving better than expected SATs results.

With over 20 years of experience across primary and secondary education, I’m passionate about delivering high-quality, inclusive learning that’s tailored to each child. From the very start—teaching my teddies and little brother—I knew education was my calling. I trained at Goldsmiths, University of London, and have spent my career helping children thrive in both mainstream and specialist settings.

My work spans classroom teaching, pastoral leadership, and SEND support—including roles as Head of Department, Deputy SENCO, and now Head of Year 7, where I guide students through the crucial transition to secondary school. I design lessons that build confidence and curiosity, always putting relationships, nurture, and individual needs at the heart of what I do.

As both a parent of three children and an educator, I know the challenges families face—and the power of the right support. At Prima Learning, I offer a personalised, compassionate approach face to face in the Croydon and surrounding areas as well as online.  Overall helping children to feel seen, heard, and empowered to Learn, Grow, Thrive.
